About the sharing image
You can submit your game without one. Just choose an image from your device on the submission form. A screenshot of your game is fine.
What is a sharing image?
It’s the picture shown when your site’s URL is posted on social media and elsewhere. If your page has one, “Load image” on the submission form uses it as a suggestion for your game’s card.
If you don’t have one
- Take a screenshot of your game while it’s being played.
- On the submission form, use “Choose card image” to select it.
- Use “Choose icon image” to select a separate image for the icon.
Images are resized on your device before they’re sent, so you don’t need to prepare a particular size. Use images you have the right to use.
Size that looks good
| Card | A wide image, about 1200×630. It’s shown at 600×315, and anything that doesn’t fit that shape is cropped from the edges. |
|---|---|
| Icon | A square image, 128×128 or larger. |
Keep the title and characters near the center so they aren’t cropped, and avoid text that’s too small.
Adding one to your own site
This makes your game’s link look better everywhere, not just here. Place the image on your site, then add this line inside the page’s <head>, using the image’s full https URL.
<meta property="og:image" content="https://example.com/share.png" />If you’re building your game with an AI tool, you can simply ask: “Add a 1200×630 image for social sharing, and set it in og:image with its full URL.”
If “Load image” doesn’t work
- Check that the page is public and the URL starts with https.
- Check that the image’s URL in og:image starts with https.
- Some sites refuse automatic access. In that case, choose your own image.
